Progressive Cloud is searching for a talented Senior Backend Engineer excited to build excellent backend services in modern software architecture for our clients worldwide. This profile will constantly optimize our complex applications to address 1) our stakeholders' needs and 2) the best engineering principles rooted in Progressive Cloud’s operating model. In this role, you will:
  • Develop and support software, including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
  • Work to improve product quality, safety, and performance with the most significant impact on your team and others.
  • Support software testing and deployment of new products and features.
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Setting up tools and required IT infrastructure.
  • Focused on delivering towards a DevOps mindset.
  • Contribute to Progressive Cloud’s Engineering community by sharing good practices and lessons learned.

REQUIREMENTS

What it takes:
  • You are currently residing in Portugal.
  • Autonomous professional who requires little steering to accomplish results.
  • Demonstrated authority to position himself/herself as a valuable member of an engagement.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills.
  • Ability to influence others technically with your input.
  • Experience in agile frameworks for software development.
  • Must haves:
  • Expert knowledge of C and Linux (Unix) environments
  • Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience with Libc, POSIX API.
  • Experience in Kernel development.
  • Experience in implementing binary network protocols.
  • Experience in high-performance, scalable storage solutions
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, and other container technologies.
  • Knowledge of principles of TCP/IP protocol stack, being able to troubleshoot network-related issues, analyzing traffic, and using networking tools
  • Knowledge of other networking tools and protocols like NFS, iSCSI, Kerberos, ADS, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, HTTPS, PROXY
  • Experience with CI/CD environments by testing, building, and deploying code.
  • Availability to travel.
